Obadiah Dugan dies and is succeeded by his son, The Rev. Ernest

The Rev. Ernest Dugan, Jr. succeeds his father as superintendent

June 18, 1978
J. Douglas Donehue becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors of
the Mission
September 29, 1989
Hurricane Hugo damages The Star Gospel Mission and Faith Cottage
beyond repair
June 15, 1996
The new Star Gospel Mission building is dedicated and J. Douglas
Donehue becomes its first Executive Director
April 24, 2004
The Star Gospel Mission celebrates a century of Christian service
