The Rev. William K. Christian, a short biography
Bill is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of a Lutheran Pastor. He attended college at Concordia
University in Milwaukee, and received his B.A. degree from Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Bill then attended Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis where he received his Master's of Divinity
degree. He was ordained in 1978 and served as a Lutheran Pastor in Denver, Colorado. In 1985 Bill attended
the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas and was ordained an Episcopal priest
in 1986. Since then he has served parishes in St. Louis, MO, Surfside Beach, SC and San Antonio, Texas. Bill
and his wife returned to South Carolina in 2001. Bill has served as the Managing Director of the Star Gospel
Mission, and following the death of Doug Donehue in October 2006, Bill was made the Executive Director of the
Mission. Bill's wife, Sarah, is a Wealth Manager at Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney. Bill and Sarah are active
members of Grace Episcopal Church. Bill also serves on the Greater Charleston Prisoner Re-Entry Advisory
Committee, and the Lowcountry Continuum of Care Partnership.
